Go! is a one night youth event for young people who are committed to their churches and passionate about their schools. A night of live music, videos, worship, competitions, an illustrated message, prayer and time to hang out with loads of like-minded young people from all over the area.

Go! started as a citywide event run by New Generation and local churches. After 30 Go! events in 3 years, we’re celebrating our friends at NG Sweden’s 10th anniversary by filling 2 buses with over 100 young people and taking Go! on the road in Europe. Go! will be stopping in 5 countries for 5 citywide events, as well as 2 solid weeks of social action in schools, lunchtime concerts, flashmobs and more, and the tour will be coming to the UK for 2 nights.

Go! Europe is all about spreading good news and positive stories about young people in the UK and Europe. It’s about connecting young Christians standing up for their faith in their schools. It’s about creating a forum where you can be challenged, encouraged, inspired and resourced to reach out in your schools with the message of Jesus.

Ever feel like you’re climbing up a mountain?

That’s exactly what some of us at NG will do, only we’re doing it three times over, in Scotland, Wales and England. Moreover we’re going to climb and descend them all in under 24 hours.

You may be wondering why we’d want to do such a thing. It’s simple really – we like a challenge, but more importantly we’re doing it to raise money for NG. Every week we support around 250 school groups who are living out their faith in their school or college. We do this through group visits, posters, magazines, training days, youth meetings, online resources and much more. We’ve got a group of amazing interns who pay to volunteer with New Generation. All of this is done because we believe that schools are the most important missions field and that the young Christians who attend these schools and colleges are the best people to reach their friends.

As you can imagine, to make all of this happen it costs money and we would love your help in raising some. We are seeing Churches grow, young people saved and young Christians maturing in their faith and we really, really want to see more of this. It would be amazing if you would support us.

All you need to do is click on the link below and follow the instructions:

GIVE

God is willing and waiting to back up your initiative!

We just a received an amazing email from Jessica, the leader of a CU in High Wycombe. Here’s what she said…

“I gave a notice at my church on Sunday – briefly explaining about the Bible project and the impact it had on my school last time we did it. After I had given my notice, the leader said that every penny which went in the weekly offering would go directly to the Bible project! I took the money home and counted it and it came to £614.07! It was mind blowing! We really sense that this project is from God and has given us a huge encouragement! The other members of CU have yet to ask their churches so it is likely that this amount will go up shortly! We have decided not only to limit the Bible project to our school, but to give some Bibles to CU’s within the area so that they can do a Bible project too! I am so excited about it all!”

If you have a group or even if you are on your own you can hand out Bibles in your school or college. Sometimes we need to take a step of faith for God to do something amazing.

Say hello to the CU at Grace Academy, Darlaston… Last year this CU was up and running for only 3 weeks when they did their first outreach!

On Valentines Day they got 600 valentines days cards sponsored from the school. In the cards they
taped candy in tiny plastic bags and wrote encouraging messages.

One of the CU members said that he did not have high expectations, but when he saw the response
he realised how wrong he was.

People became so happy and exited, many of them started asking the question “Why are you doing
this?” One girl from the CU said that she got 3 random hugs from students she’d never met before.
hey were so thankful! And it was a total success.

The CU is still going and trying to make Jesus known to the people at Grace Academy Darlaston.

The outreach you plan can so outdo your expectations – have courage!

The Prayer Space is organised so that all classes will come and see it during lesson hours! The purpose is to let the students experience what prayer is, using different stations where they do different tasks and see a video with a letter being written from God to man.

Maybe this idea is perfect for your school? Please let us know if you’re thinking about doing something like the Prayer Space!

The week after Valentine’s Day, God’s love was spread throughout the whole of Redcliffe Sixth Form.

Last year, Redcliffe Sixth Form CU got the idea to have a week near Valentine’s day that was just to show God’s love to the pupils and staff. They called it ‘Love Week’ and it was such a blessing for both
the CU and the sixth form. It was such a success that they decided to do it again this year, even though Valentine’s day was in the half term, so they did it the week after.
We had the privilege to be there when they had their brainstorming meeting and to hear all the ideas they had for this outreach. Creativity was not lacking in the Christian Union for this event, just days in a week.

Here is what Sam, one of the leaders in the Christian Union, said about what they did in this year’s ‘Love Week’;

“On the Monday we gave out over 400 cakes with bible verses attached in the common room, the following day we ran ‘Cookie for a Question’ in which people could ask any questions that they had about faith and
in return would get a cookie, and hopefully an answer! This was amaaaazing People had so many questions we ran straight through lunch and then half way through the next period!
On the Wednesday we held a teacher and staff car wash, cleaning their cars for free. Then on the Thursday in CU we held an open session and showed a video about Christianity and Science which was very interesting and around 70 attended (15-25 haven’t been to the CU before):) Finally on the Friday we were all challenged to compliment or encourage 5 different people throughout the day!
Hopefully some seeds have been sown, praise God for all the work he’s doing!!! Blessings guys, keep up the encouragements!”

We hope that this story will encourage others to do something! The Redcliffe CU had loads of different outreaches in one week(!), but depending on how many people and how much time you have, you might not
be able to do all of this. The key is to pray, plan, prepare and then just do it, however big or small. Then, let God do the rest!

The CU they are a part of has been going for about 1 1/2 years. They are still getting to know each other, but at the same time, around Christmas, they thought it was time to do something for the rest of the school. They wanted to hand out a candy cane with a bible verse to each and every person at their school.

Listen to Michaela, Kez and Amy as they speak about it at our event.

Valentine’s Day has always been a day on which many New Generation groups do an outreach, so that’s what the group in Avesta, Sweden did too.

Weeks ahead the group had been preparing their plans. They bought sweets, wrapped bibles in paper, cut out paper hearts and wrote words of encouragements on them.

On Valentine’s Day itself the group gathered early in the morning in the school to prepare everything. They stuck all the hearts on people’s lockers, and spread the bibles out over the school.

The outreach was a great success! Many people kept their hearts on the inside of their locker, and several students took a bible.

The school decided to sponsor the sweets for the outreach: maybe you could ask your headmaster if they could do the same?
