Hannah’s Best Teamer Memories

Posted: 05 Apr 11 | By: NG Team

Hannah from the South Team shares two of her best Teamer memories so far (except hearing loads of great testimonies from groups, which is obviously always a favourite!).

“My first fave Teamer memory is actually an entire day. All the Teams got together for a reunion before Christmas and we went out for our Christmas meal. It sounds pretty ordinary but this happened to be the first ‘snow day’! It had been snowing constantly since about 5 am, and there was about half a foot of snow on the ground. The restaurant even called us to check that we were still coming, because so many other people had cancelled. We went anyway, but it took ages to get there and my feet got soaked. Wearing heels whilst walking thorough half a foot of snow is not sensible!!! Later that day we all got to go to our leader Brad’s house for dinner, and it was a great time of just being together and eating really good food. After we’d eaten all the Teams shared what they’d been up to, and the North Team even decided they wanted to share some Christmas spirit with an acapella rendition of Jingle Bells!

My second fave Team Year memory was something that happened after a group visit in Andover. We all went a little bit camera crazy, and my Team Leader Jenny practiced an NG talk by preaching to some innocent ducks down at a pond. The afternoon just got crazier, with my team leader Jenny almost pushing me into a river, and later pulling up by the side of a random road to take pictures…which somehow turned into “Let’s film ourselves dancing!!!” And so we did, and we have since earned a bit of a reputation for being the dancing Teamers.

Like I said, the best of all is hearing all the great stuff that young people are doing in their schools, but a Team Year with New Generation is also full of fun, surprises and adventure, and after a year with us you’ll certainly have a whole load of anecdotes of your own to tell.”
